Why Italy?
--Italy is the world’s 7th largest economy with a GDP of $2.1 trillion. Italy’s economy is expected to grow 1.1 percent in 2010 following two years of decline due to the global recession. Italy’s population is 60 million. --Italy is the 18th largest market for U.S. exports, totaling $15.5 billion in 2008. The U.S. is Italy’s 10th largest supplier. The top four supplier nations are Germany, France, China, and the Netherlands. U.S. imports from Italy totaled $35 billion. --Missouri companies earned $120,935,864 from exports to Italy in 2009. |
