MINNESOTA DISTRICT EXPORT COUNCIL

A quick monthly update for Minnesota exporters from Minnesota District Export Council. Subscribe by simply following instructions at the end of this newsletter.

Happy June Everyone!

I don’t know about you all, but the summer weather is making me feel like a new person. It’s so energizing! That energy comes at a perfect time as June is a big month for our board.

First, we have a number of long-time DEC members who are resigning from their positions. I cannot say thank you enough to those people who have dedicated time to our organization. Over the years, That leaves us with an important mission, to recruit new DEC members. If you have interest in becoming a DEC board member, please let us know. A member of our Executive Committee is happy to talk to you about what serving on our board means and the expectation. Also, if there’s someone in your network that you think may be interested, please nudge them to contact us. Our board has an in-person meeting on June 20th and we’re inviting potential DEC members to join us to get an introduction to the group.

Also, this month, we start our strategic planning. As a group that is tasked with growing exports for the state of Minnesota, we are seeking new and innovative ways to reach the export audience. We’d love any comments or ideas as to what services we can provide. Is there an information or service gap somewhere that we can fill? Is there anything you’d like to see in our newsletter? Let us know your thoughts in the comments here.  Every idea is an opportunity.

Now get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather!

Shannen Bornsen, MN DEC Chair
